The year was 12,024,024, and Earth had become a barren and hostile world. A relentless increase in solar radiation had transformed the planet into a furnace over millions of years. The sky, once blue, now burned with a perpetual red haze, as dust storms whipped across an ever-shifting landscape. Gone were the vibrant oceans and sprawling green forests—now, only dry seabeds and sun-baked plains remained.

The supercontinent of Pangaea Ultima had formed, merging once-separated lands into a singular, desolate expanse. What little water remained was trapped beneath thick ice sheets at the poles, remnants of an ice age that had been driven by massive fluctuations in the atmosphere. Volcanic activity, triggered by tectonic shifts, constantly spewed ash into the thin, toxic air. Breathing on the surface was impossible without protective suits.

Humanity, as it once existed, had long vanished. Their descendants had either evolved or escaped, venturing to the stars to find new worlds. However, a single expedition remained—The Exo-Ark, a colossal spaceship carrying the last curious minds from the human colonies on distant planets. Their mission was not just to study the Earth, but to seek the answer to a forbidden question: Was it ever possible to return?

Dr. Sera Nolan, an astrophysicist and one of the Exo-Ark’s crew, stared out the observation window at the crumbling landscape below. Her ancestors had left Earth thousands of years ago, but she had only known it through ancient records and simulations. This was her first time seeing the reality of a world in its death throes.

“We’ve reached Point Echo,” said Li Quan, the ship’s pilot. The point marked where ancient human cities once stood, now swallowed by shifting tectonic plates.

“Prepare the portal device,” Sera ordered. The Temporal Gateway was their last hope—a time machine designed to stabilize small pockets in history long enough for temporary exploration. But using it was dangerous; one wrong step could leave them lost in time.

When the portal opened, Sera took a deep breath and stepped through. The past was not her destination, but a single moment frozen in time: Earth, 10 million years ago, just as the final exodus of humanity had begun. She saw fragments of a ruined city submerged in volcanic ash, remnants of streets and towering buildings.

The History of first life on our planet,
The earliest life on Earth is thought to have arisen around 3.5 to 4 billion years ago. The exact timeframe is difficult to pinpoint exactly due to the scarcity of geological and fossil data from that far period. The fossilized remnants of microbes such as bacteria and archaea provide the oldest evidence of life.

These early life forms were single-celled creatures that most likely lived in hydrothermal vents or shallow, warm oceans. The early Earth's atmosphere was significantly different from today's, with high amounts of gases such as methane, ammonia, and water vapor. Life is supposed to have originated when these basic creatures discovered the capacity to gather energy from their surroundings and reproduce.

There would be enormous and maybe disastrous effects on our planet and all life on it if the Sun were to move closer to us. However, it is important to make clear that the Sun's distance from Earth is largely steady because of the balance of gravitational forces between the Sun and the planets, including Earth, before we consider the hypothetical scenario. There is almost no likelihood that such an event will occur.

Having said that, let's look at some possible effects of a closer Sun:

Temperature increases: As the Sun approaches Earth, more solar radiation will enter our globe, raising temperatures. This would cause temperatures to significantly rise, resulting in intense heat waves and a surge in the frequency of illnesses and fatalities brought on by the heat. Oceans and the surface of the Earth would warm, affecting habitats and ecosystems.

Rising Sea Levels and Melting Ice Caps: The warmer temperatures would hasten the melting of polar glaciers and ice caps, which would raise the sea level. Flooding would be a possibility in low-lying islands and coastal areas, displacing millions of people and resulting in significant ecological changes.

Global weather patterns would probably shift as a result of a closer Sun since it would probably change atmospheric circulation patterns. While some areas might experience more severe storms, others would endure protracted droughts that have an impact on agriculture and water supplies.

Earth could have rings like Saturn. However, in reality, Earth does not currently have such a ring system.

The concept of Earth having rings like Saturn is an intriguing but entirely hypothetical scenario. Unlike Saturn, Earth does not have a natural ring system. Saturn's rings are made of ice, rock, and dust, and they are maintained by the planet's strong gravitational field.

For Earth to have rings like Saturn, a significant event would have had to occur, such as a massive impact that could have sent debris into orbit around the planet. This debris could then potentially form a ring system.
