Australia created history by defeating India by a massive 342 runs in the third Test at Nagpur, sealing their first Test series victory on Indian soil in 35 years.

On a surprisingly green pitch at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Australia's fast bowlers made full use of the conditions. Damien Martyn produced a magnificent century, while Jason Gillespie and Glenn McGrath ripped through India's batting with relentless accuracy.

India, already without Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh, welcomed back Sachin Tendulkar after injury, but the hosts struggled against Australia's disciplined bowling attack. Mohammad Kaif fought hard with a half-century, but India were outclassed in both innings.
