India wrapped up the historic ODI series in Pakistan with a memorable 40-run victory over their arch-rivals in the fifth and final ODI at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

After being asked to bat first, VVS Laxman produced one of the finest ODI innings of his career, scoring a magnificent 107 off just 104 balls. Supported by useful contributions from Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, India posted a competitive total of 293.

Pakistan's chase got off to a disastrous start as Irfan Pathan produced a sensational spell of swing bowling, removing three top-order batsmen and reducing the hosts to 58/4.
